Spiced Beef and Hummus Platter with Mint and Feta
Ingredients
- 1 cup hummus
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup beef stock
- 1/4 cup chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
Instructions
1. Season the Beef
In a small bowl, combine the ground cumin, ground coriander, ground cinnamon, ground allspice, cayenne pepper, and fine sea salt. Mix well.
2. Prepare the Beef
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up using a spatula. Cook for about 5 minutes until the beef is browned.
3. Spice it Up
Sprinkle the mixed spices over the browned beef, stirring well to coat the meat evenly.
4. Simmer with Stock
Pour in the beef stock, chicken stock, and water. Stir to combine and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for approximately 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the liquid to reduce slightly.
5. Prepare the Hummus Base
On a serving platter, spread the hummus evenly to form a base.
6. Assemble the Platter
Spoon the spiced beef over the hummus base. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
7. Garnish and Serve
Top the dish with chopped mint leaves and crumbled feta cheese. Serve warm as a delightful, flavor-packed snack.
