Pumpkin Spiced Tart with Maple Bourbon Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups pumpkin purée
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)
- ½ cup candied pecans, roughly chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon bourbon
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Tart Filling:
In a large bowl, combine pumpkin purée, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Mix until evenly distributed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in evaporated milk and orange zest until the mixture is smooth.
3. Assemble the Tart:
Unroll the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim excess dough and crimp the edges. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
4. Bake the Tart:
Place the tart on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. Prepare Maple Bourbon Whipped Cream:
In a chilled mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, maple syrup, and bourbon. Using an electric mixer on medium-high speed, whip the mixture until soft peaks form.
6. Cool and Serve:
Allow the tart to cool completely on a wire rack. Top with candied pecans for a decadent crunch. Serve slices with a generous dollop of maple bourbon whipped cream.
