Classic Pecan Pie Perfection
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecans
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pie Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Trim the edges, and crimp them for a decorative finish.
2. Mix the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
- Add 1 cup corn syrup and mix until well combined.
- Beat in 3 large eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- Stir in 1/3 cup melted butter and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
3. Add the Pecans:
- Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of pecans. Make sure the pecans are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
4. Assemble the Pie:
- Pour the pecan mixture into the prepared pie crust. Spread it evenly with a spatula, making sure pecans are uniformly scattered.
5. Bake the Pie:
- Place the pie on the middle rack of the preheated oven.
- Bake for approximately 50 to 60 minutes, or until the pie is set and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- If the edges of the crust begin to brown too quickly, you can cover them with strips of aluminum foil to prevent burning.
6. Cool and Serve:
- Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack. This will allow the filling to set properly.
- Once cooled, slice and serve. Enjoy your dessert with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
