Oven-Baked Apple and Milk Custard Delight
Ingredients
- 4 cups goat milk
- 1 cup cow milk
- 1/2 cup whey cream milk
- 3 large green apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Milk Mixture: In a large saucepan, combine the goat milk, cow milk, and whey cream milk. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it begins to steam. Do not allow it to boil.
3. Whisk the Eggs: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well-combined.
4. Combine Milk and Eggs: Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from curdling.
5. Assemble the Custard: Arrange the sliced green apples and halved grapes evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour the milk and egg mixture over the fruit.
6. Bake the Custard: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the custard is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Cool and Serve: Allow the custard to cool to room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or refrigerate for later use.
