Ultimate Turkey & Avocado Lunch Sandwich with Triple Sauce Delight
Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread (your choice: whole grain, sourdough, or white)
- 8 ounces cooked turkey breast, sliced thinly
- 8 slices of cheese (Swiss or cheddar works best)
- 4 leaves of lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
- 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 2 ripe avocados, pitted, peeled, and thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons pesto
- 4 tablespoons chipotle aioli
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard
- 4 tablespoons cranberry sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Gather all your ingredients. Wash the lettuce and tomatoes thoroughly. Slice the tomatoes and avocados and set aside.
2. Toast the Bread:
Preheat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly toast each slice of bread for about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and cool slightly.
3. Mix the Sauces:
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, pesto, and chipotle aioli until well-blended. This will be your sandwich spread.
4. Assemble the Sandwiches:
- For each sandwich, spread a generous amount of the sauce mixture on one side of two slices of toasted bread.
- Lay 2 ounces of sliced turkey on one half, followed by a slice of cheese.
- Add a slice of lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado, layering evenly.
- On the other half of the sandwich, spread a little honey mustard and add a tablespoon of cranberry sauce.
- Carefully close each sandwich, pressing down gently.
5. Heat the Sandwich:
On medium-low heat, return the assembled sandwiches to the stove to slightly melt the cheese (optional step). Cook for about 2 minutes per side, being careful not to burn the bread.
6. Serve:
Cut the sandwiches diagonally for easy handling, and serve immediately for a delicious, hearty lunch.
