Decadent Chocolate Oat Oven Roast Delight
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup refined sugar-free chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup whipping cream
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and vegetable oil until smooth. Add in the honey or maple syrup, then beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla extract.
3. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, dark cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently.
4. Add Wet Ingredient and Chocolate
Slowly fold in the buttermilk, mixing until the batter is just combined. Gently stir in the chopped refined sugar-free chocolate pieces.
5. Roast in the Oven
Grease a medium-sized baking dish with a bit more vegetable oil. Pour the batter into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Roast in the oven for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Prepare the Whipped Cream Topping
While the chocolate oat creation is roasting, whip the whipping cream in a large chilled bowl until soft peaks form.
7. Final Touches
Allow the roasted delight to cool slightly before serving. Top each serving with a dollop of fresh whipped cream for an indulgent finish.
