Irresistibly Creamy Grilled Cheese & Tomato Basil Soup
Ingredients
For the Grilled Cheese:
- 8 slices of bread
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
For the Tomato Basil Soup:
- 2 cups tomato soup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Instructions
Grilled Cheese:
1. Prepare the Bread: Lay 8 slices of bread on a flat surface. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of softened butter evenly on one side of each slice.
2. Assemble the Sandwiches: Place one slice of cheddar cheese on the unbuttered side of a slice of bread, then top with another slice with the buttered side facing out. Repeat for the remaining slices to create 4 sandwiches.
3. Cook the Sandwiches: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet in a single layer. Cook each side for 3-4 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Adjust heat as necessary to prevent burning.
