Irresistible Cinnamon Vanilla Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pan
Line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it with butter or non-stick spray. Set aside.
2. Melt the Butter
In a large pot, melt the 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat on the stove. Stir gently to prevent browning or burning. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
3. Combine Marshmallows, Vanilla, and Salt
Once the butter is fully melted, lower the heat to medium-low and add the 10 ounces of mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until the marshmallows begin to melt. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt to the mix.
4. Incorporate Cinnamon
As the marshmallow mixture becomes smooth, sprinkle in the 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Stir thoroughly to ensure the cinnamon is evenly distributed.
5. Add Rice Krispie Cereal
Remove the pot from the heat. Gradually fold in the 6 cups of Rice Krispie cereal, stirring until the cereal is completely coated with the marshmallow mixture.
6. Transfer and Set
Quickly transfer the mixture to the prepared 9x13-inch pan. With the back of a buttered spatula or lightly greased hands, press the mixture evenly into the pan. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, or the treats can become too dense.
7. Cool and Slice
Allow the Rice Krispie treats to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
