Grilled Bratwurst and Sautéed Celery Delight
Ingredients
- 8 bratwurst sausages
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 celery stalks, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
1. Prepare the Charcoal Grill:
- Light the charcoal in your grill. Allow the coals to heat for about 15 minutes or until they are covered with white ash. This ensures an even cooking temperature.
2. Prep the Celery:
- While the grill is heating, rinse and thinly slice the celery stalks.
- In a small saucepan on the stove, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced celery to the melted butter, stirring to coat the celery evenly.
- Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Sauté the celery for about 5 minutes or until tender-crisp.
3. Grill the Bratwurst:
- Once the grill is ready, arrange the bratwurst sausages evenly across the grilling grate.
- Grill the sausages for 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally for even browning. Internal temperature of the sausages should reach 160°F (71°C).
4. Assembly:
- Once the bratwursts are cooked through and have a nice char, remove them from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
- Serve the bratwurst on a platter with the sautéed celery as a savory side.
