Oven-Baked Green Chile Avocado-Cilantro Dip
Ingredients
- 1 large ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, loosely packed
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 green chiles, seeded and chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Ingredients:
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the peeled and pitted avocado, cilantro, mayonnaise, yogurt, lemon zest, lemon juice, green chiles, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
3. Blend the Mixture:
Using an immersion blender or a food processor, blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Ensure there are no lumps.
4. Transfer to Baking Dish:
Lightly oil a small oven-safe baking dish. Spoon the avocado and cilantro mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
5. Bake the Dip:
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and slightly bubbly around the edges.
6. Cool and Serve:
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. This dip is excellent with tortilla chips, pita crisps, or fresh vegetable sticks.
