Lemon Cream Cheese Delight Bars
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant lemon pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
1. Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Base Layer:
- In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter until crumbly.
- Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
3. Bake the Crust:
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
4. Cream Cheese Layer:
- In a large bowl, beat 8 oz of softened cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled crust.
5. Layer the Lemon:
- In another bowl, whisk together 1 package of instant lemon pudding mix with 2 cups of milk until the mixture thickens. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Gently spread this lemon pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer.
6. Top with Whipped Topping:
- Finally, carefully spread 1 cup of whipped topping over the lemon pudding layer.
7. Refrigerate:
- Cover the dessert with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the layers to set.
8. Serve:
- Once chilled and set, cut into bars. Serve cold and enjoy this refreshing dessert.
