Crispy Tuna & Celery Pan Fry Delight
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna, drained (5 oz each)
- 2 stalks of celery, finely diced
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Tuna Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna with finely diced celery and red onion. Mix well to evenly distribute the vegetables.
- Add the mayonnaise and salt to the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated, forming a consistent and moist mixture.
2. Shape the Tuna Patties:
- Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Use your hands to shape each portion into a firm patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Ensure the patties are compact to prevent them from falling apart during frying.
3. Preheat the Frying Pan:
- Place a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to heat up, which usually takes about 2–3 minutes.
4. Fry the Tuna Patties:
- Carefully place each patty into the hot pan. Fry for approximately 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the patties turn golden brown and crispy. Be gentle when flipping to maintain their shape.
5. Serve:
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional celery leaves or lemon wedges if desired.
