Sparkling Tequila Stir-Fry Fiesta
Ingredients
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (approx. 2 limes)
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 1 cup sparkling grapefruit soda
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 1 lime wedge, for garnish
- 1 grapefruit wedge, for garnish
- 2 cups ice cubes
Instructions
1. Prepare the Salt Rim:
- On a small plate, mix 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt with 1 tablespoon of lime zest.
- Moisten the rim of a large glass with the lime wedge and press it gently into the salt-zest mixture to coat.
2. Prepare the Lime and Grapefruit Wedges:
- Cut lime and grapefruit into additional wedges, reserving one wedge of each for garnish.
3. Mix the Base:
- In a skillet over medium heat, add 1/4 cup fresh lime juice and 1/4 cup tequila.
- Stir the mixture continuously for about 1 minute, allowing the alcohol from the tequila to reduce slightly.
4. Add Sparkling Soda:
- Pour in 1 cup of sparkling grapefruit soda into the skillet.
- Stir gently for approximately 2 minutes, ensuring the mixture is well combined.
5. Cool Down with Ice:
- Remove the skillet from the heat and carefully transfer the mixture into a cocktail shaker filled with 2 cups of ice.
- Shake the contents vigorously for 30 seconds to blend and chill.
6. Serve:
- Strain the mixture into the prepared glass with the salted rim.
- Garnish with a slice of lime and a grapefruit wedge on the rim of the glass for a refreshing touch.
