- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili paste
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 4 green onions, sliced
Instructions
1. Prepare the Noodles:
- Boil 8 ounces of ramen noodles in a large pot according to package instructions, usually 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Make the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cornstarch, 1/4 cup soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon chili paste. Stir until the cornstarch dissolves completely. Set aside.
3. Cook the Beef:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
4. Add Aromatics:
- Reduce heat to medium.
- Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger to the beef. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
5. Combine Peas and Cook:
- Add 1 cup of frozen peas to the skillet. Stir quickly to incorporate.
6. Mix in the Sauce and Noodles:
- Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet, stirring constantly to coat the beef and peas.
- Add the drained ramen noodles. Toss everything together to ensure even distribution of the sauce and ingredients. Cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.
7. Season and Garnish:
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt to taste.
- Remove from heat and stir in 4 sliced green onions.
