Classic Vanilla Cream Cake



Ingredients



- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions



1. Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to fully preheat. Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing them with butter and lightly dusting them with flour.

2. Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, cream the 1 cup of softened butter with 2 cups of granulated sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. This should take about 4-5 minutes.

3. Incorporate Eggs
Add the 3 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Continue to beat the mixture until it's fully combined and smooth.

4. Add Dry Ingredients
Gradually sift in the 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour into the butter mixture, mixing on low speed. Do this in increments to prevent flour from spilling.

5. Mix in Wet Ingredients
Slowly add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated and the batter is smooth.

6. Bake the Cake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Tap the pans gently to remove any air bubbles. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Cool the Cake
Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.
