Baked Linguine and Beef Meatballs in Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound linguine
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 24 ounces marinara sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated but do not overmix.
3. Shape the Meatballs
Roll the meat mixture into 1-inch balls, making approximately 20 meatballs.
4. Bake the Meatballs
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and browned.
5. Cook the Linguine
While meatballs are baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
6. Combine with Marinara Sauce
In a large oven-safe dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Add the cooked linguine and toss with a drizzle of olive oil to prevent sticking. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the pasta and gently mix until evenly coated.
7. Assemble the Dish
Nestle the baked meatballs evenly over the top of the linguine and marinara sauce. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
8. Final Bake
Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
9. Serving
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
