Baked Tomato Basil Parmesan Pasta
Ingredients
- 8 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 12 oz pasta (your choice of variety)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly torn
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. Prepare the Tomatoes:
- In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to evenly coat the tomatoes.
3. Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
4. Assemble the Dish:
- In a baking dish, layer half of the cooked pasta, followed by half of the tomato mixture, and sprinkle with half of the basil. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, tomatoes, and basil.
5. Add the Cheese:
- Evenly sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top layer of tomatoes and basil.
6. Bake:
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top.
7. Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves for presentation, then serve hot.
