Baked Trio Pasta Medley with Smoked Mozzarella
Ingredients
- 1 cup bowtie pasta
- 1 cup penne pasta
- 1 cup basil pesto
- 1 cup smoked mozzarella, shredded
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Prepare the Oven and Pasta:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bowtie pasta and penne pasta, and cook until al dente, approximately 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
2. Mix Pasta and Pesto:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked bowtie pasta and penne pasta.
- Add basil pesto, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the pasta is well-coated with the pesto mixture.
3. Assemble the Dish:
- In a baking dish, spread half of the pesto-coated pasta as the first layer.
- Evenly sprinkle half of the smoked mozzarella over the pasta layer.
- Spread the remaining pasta over the cheese layer, followed by the remaining smoked mozzarella on top.
4. Bake:
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the pasta from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
