Blanched Green Beans with Sesame Soy Chili Dressing



Ingredients



- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon black vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions



1. Prepare the Green Beans:
- Rinse the green beans thoroughly under cold water. Trim the ends and set them aside.

2. Blanch the Green Beans:
- Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon salt to the boiling water. Then, add the green beans.
- Blanch the green beans for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- Immediately remove the green beans from the boiling water and plunge them into a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. This will help the beans retain their vibrant color and crisp texture.
- Once cooled, drain thoroughly and set aside.

3. Prepare the Sesame Soy Chili Dressing:
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the sesame oil, olive oil, soy sauce, black vinegar, sugar, chili flakes, chili crisp, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper.
- Whisk the ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved and the dressing is well blended.

4. Dress the Green Beans:
- Place the blanched, cooled, and drained green beans in a serving bowl.
- Pour the sesame soy chili dressing over the green beans and toss gently to ensure even coating.

5. Final Touch:
- Transfer the dressed green beans to a platter or individual plates.
