Broiled Turkey and Havarti Delight with Dill-Infused Veggies
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread, preferably sourdough or your choice
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 8 slices deli turkey
- 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
- 4 slices Havarti cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat the Broiler: Set your oven's broiler to high and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes.
2. Prepare the Bread: Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise evenly on each slice.
3. Layer the Turkey and Cheese: On each mayonnaise-coated slice of bread, layer 2 slices of deli turkey followed by 1 slice of Havarti cheese.
4. Broil the Sandwich Base: Place the baking sheet under the broiler for about 3 minutes until the cheese melts and starts to bubble lightly. Watch closely to prevent burning.
5. Prepare the Vegetables: While the bread is broiling, mix the sliced cucumber and tomato with the fresh dill in a bowl. Toss them gently to combine.
6. Assemble the Sandwich: Once the cheese is melted and lightly golden, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Top each slice with a layer of the cucumber and tomato mixture.
7. Finish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle an additional pinch of dill on top for an extra burst of flavor. Serve immediately while warm.
