Cheesy Baked Salsa Nacho Delight
Ingredients
- 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup tomato salsa
- 8 ounces Velveeta Original cheese, cubed
- 1 cup Mexican cheddar cheese blend, shredded
- 8 ounces tortilla chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the cubed Velveeta cheese. Stir constantly until it begins to melt, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and continue heating, stirring occasionally until the mixture is smooth and well combined, approximately another 3 minutes.
3. Layer the Ingredients
- In a large oven-proof baking dish, spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly.
- Pour half of the melted cheese and tomato mixture over the chips, ensuring even coverage.
- Sprinkle half of the Mexican cheddar cheese blend over the top.
4. Repeat Layers
- Add another layer of tortilla chips.
- Pour the remaining cheese and tomato mixture over this second layer of chips.
- Finish with the remaining Mexican cheddar cheese blend evenly spread over the top.
5. Baking
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden on top.
6. Adding Salsa for a Kick
- Remove the dish from the oven. Immediately dollop the tomato salsa onto the top of the baked nachos, distributing it evenly.
7. Serve Warm
- Let the nachos cool slightly for about 2 minutes before serving them warm.
