Crab and Shrimp Puff Pastry Bites



Ingredients



- 1 package puff pastry sheets (2 sheets), thawed
- 1 cup cooked crab meat
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup wonton wrappers, chopped
- 1 cup spring roll sheets, chopped
- 1/2 cup panko breading
- 2 tablespoons mixed fresh herbs (such as parsley, dill, and chives), finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions



1. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Unfold the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface.
- Cut each sheet into 9 equal squares.

2. Prepare the Crab and Shrimp Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked crab meat, chopped shrimp, and melted butter.
- Add the chopped wonton wrappers and spring roll sheets to the mixture.
- Incorporate the panko breading and fresh herbs.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

3. Assemble the Puff Pastry Bites:
- Place approximately 1-2 tablespoons of the crab and shrimp filling onto the center of each puff pastry square.
- Gently fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, pinching to seal and forming a small pouch. Ensure there are no gaps.

4. Bake the Pastry Bites:
- Arrange the filled puff pastry bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.

5. Serve:
- Allow the bites to cool slightly before serving.
- These snacks are best enjoyed warm, but can also be served at room temperature.
