Creamy Almond Delight Tart
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the Almond Mixture
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced almonds and melted butter. Stir well to coat the almonds evenly with butter. Set aside for later use.
3. Create the Cream Base
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved, approximately 5 minutes.
4. Flavor the Cream Mixture
- Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and almond extract, followed by the kosher salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
5. Assemble the Tart
- Pour the cream mixture into a tart pan. Evenly distribute the buttered sliced almonds over the top of the cream mixture.
6. Bake the Tart
- Place the tart pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the cream mixture is set but slightly wobbly in the center.
7. Cool and Serve
- Allow the tart to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour. For best results, chill in the refrigerator for an additional hour before serving. This will ensure the tart is perfectly set and easy to slice.
