Creamy Boursin and Gournay Cheese Potato Mash
Ingredients
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 oz Boursin cheese
- 4 oz Gournay cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Potatoes
- Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot. Add enough water to cover them by about 2 inches.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, approximately 15-20 minutes.
2. Drain the Potatoes
- Once cooked, drain the potatoes thoroughly in a colander. Return them to the pot to remove excess moisture.
3. Mash the Potatoes
- Using a potato masher or ricer, mash the drained potatoes to your desired consistency.
4. Incorporate Cheeses
- Add the Boursin cheese and Gournay cheese to the mashed potatoes. Stir thoroughly until the cheeses melt and are evenly distributed.
5. Add Cream, Milk, and Butter
- Gradually add the heavy cream and whole milk, stirring continuously.
- Add the butter, and continue to stir until fully melted and incorporated.
6. Season the Potatoes
- Season with black pepper and additional salt if needed. Mix well.
7. Final Touch and Serve
- Once the mixture is creamy and smooth, remove from heat.
- Serve hot, garnishing with a sprinkle of black pepper or fresh herbs if desired.
