Creamy Marinara Parmesan Pasta
Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat.
- Add 12 oz of pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente, approximately PT10M (10 minutes).
- Drain the pasta and set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce
- In a large saucepan, combine 2 cups of marinara sauce, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1 cup of whole milk.
- Stir the mixture over medium heat until it begins to simmer, approximately PT5M (5 minutes).
3. Incorporate Ingredients
- Gradually add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce while continuously stirring.
- Once the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
- Continue to stir for an additional PT2M (2 minutes) until well combined.
4. Combine Pasta and Sauce
- Add the cooked pasta to the saucepan, tossing to ensure the pasta is thoroughly coated with the creamy marinara sauce.
- Cook over low heat for an additional PT3M (3 minutes) to allow the flavors to meld together.
5. Serve and Garnish
- Divide the pasta among four bowls and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and optional fresh basil if desired.
- Serve immediately for maximum creaminess and flavor.
