Creamy Turkey and Mushroom Spaghetti Bake
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 8 oz button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups Kettle Brand Honey Dijon Chips, crushed
Instructions
1. Preheat Your Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the Spaghetti:
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add 12 oz of spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. Prepare the Turkey and Mushrooms:
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked, approximately 8 minutes. Remove the turkey from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced button mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the garlic is fragrant.
4. Make the Creamy Sauce:
- Lower the heat to medium-low and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in 2 tablespoons of flour, cooking for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
- Gradually pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Add 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Continue to cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1/4 cup of milk. Add the cooked turkey back to the skillet, followed by the frozen peas and parsley. Mix well, then remove from heat.
5. Combine and Assemble:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the turkey and mushroom sauce. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
6. Top and Bake:
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the spaghetti mixture.
- Top with the crushed Kettle Brand Honey Dijon Chips for a crunchy finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
7. Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let stand for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired. Enjoy!
