Crispy Pan-Fried Breakfast Potatoes
Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
1. Prep the Potatoes
Peel and dice the potatoes into 1/2-inch cubes for even cooking.
2. Parboil the Potatoes
Place the diced potatoes in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 5 minutes, until slightly tender. Drain and allow the potatoes to sit briefly to steam-dry.
3. Heat the Pan
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and butter, allowing the butter to melt and fully combine with the oil.
4. Fry the Potatoes
Add the parboiled potatoes to the skillet in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes without stirring to allow the bottoms to crisp up.
5. Flip and Crisp
Gently flip the potatoes using a spatula, ensuring all sides become crispy. Continue cooking, flipping occasionally, for an additional 10-12 minutes, until golden-brown and crispy on all sides.
6. Serve Hot
Once crisped to your liking, remove the potatoes from the skillet. Serve immediately to enjoy the full crunchiness.
