Crispy Pan-Fried Herb-Butter Chicken Breast
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approximately 6 oz each)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts on a clean cutting board.
- Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Season both sides of each chicken breast evenly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
2. Heat the Pan:
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.
3. Pan-Fry the Chicken:
- Add the chicken breasts to the pan, ensuring they are not overcrowded. If necessary, cook in batches to maintain the proper temperature.
- Cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes on one side without moving them to develop a golden-brown crust.
- Flip the chicken breasts and add the unsalted butter to the pan.
- Continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, basting occasionally with the melted butter for added flavor and moisture.
4. Finish and Rest:
- Once fully cooked, remove the chicken breasts from the pan.
- Let the chicken rest on a plate for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute before serving.
