Crunchy Avocado & Lime Tortilla Chips
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Make the Avocado Spread
In a medium bowl, mash the avocados until smooth. Stir in the lime juice, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cilantro until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.
3. Prepare the Tortillas
Lightly brush each side of the tortillas with olive oil. Spread a thin layer of the avocado mixture onto one side of each tortilla.
4. Cut and Arrange
Using a sharp knife, cut each tortilla into 8 wedges. Lay the wedges flat in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, with the avocado-covered side facing up.
5. Bake the Chips
Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are crisp and lightly golden. Keep an eye to prevent over-browning.
6. Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt before serving. These are best enjoyed warm and fresh.
