Crunchy Oven-Baked Mustard Seed Crackers



Ingredients



- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup water

Instructions



1. Preheat Your Oven:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 tablespoon of yellow mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution of ingredients.

3. Incorporate Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard, and 1/4 cup of water until smooth.

4. Combine and Form Dough:
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until a dough forms. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

5. Roll Out the Dough:
Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out to a thin even layer, about 1/8 inch thick. Aim for a rectangular shape to maximize the number of crackers.

6. Cut and Arrange Crackers:
Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into 2-inch squares or preferred cracker shapes. Place the cut pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
