Crunchy Soy Protein and Peanut Clusters
Ingredients
- 2 cups peanuts
- 2 tablespoons palm oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup soy protein
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm up while you prepare the ingredients.
2. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
3. Mix Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanuts and soy protein.
4. Make the Coating:
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the palm oil and sugar. Stir continuously for about 3 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
5. Coat the Mixture:
Pour the warm palm oil and sugar mixture over the peanuts and soy protein. Use a spatula to mix thoroughly, ensuring every piece is well coated.
6. Season:
Sprinkle the salt over the mixture and give it one final stir to incorporate the seasoning evenly.
7. Spread Evenly:
Transfer the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out in a single layer to allow even baking.
8. Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the peanuts are crispy and golden brown. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
9. Cool and Break Into Clusters:
Remove from the oven and let it cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes. Once cool, break the mixture into small clusters.
