Dark Chocolate Nut and Fruit Snack Bars

Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted peanuts
- 1 cup whole almonds
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup candy-coated milk chocolate pieces
- 1/4 cup tapioca syrup
- 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the unsalted peanuts, whole almonds, raisins, and candy-coated milk chocolate pieces. Mix well to ensure even distribution.

3. Bind the Ingredients
Drizzle the tapioca syrup over the nut and chocolate mixture. Use a spatula to thoroughly mix until all ingredients are well coated and begin to stick together.

4. Prepare the Baking Dish
Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing the paper to hang over the edges for easy removal later.

5. Form the Base
Pour the nut and candy mixture into the prepared baking dish. Press down firmly using the back of a spatula to create an even, compact layer.

6. Bake the Bars
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Keep an eye on the texture; the nuts should be lightly toasted, and the syrup should be slightly bubbling.

7. Melt the Dark Chocolate
While the bars are baking, melt the dark chocolate. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

8. Top the Bars
Once baked, remove the bars from the oven and immediately pour the melted dark chocolate over them. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly over the surface.

9. Chill
Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 1 hour, or until the dark chocolate is set and firm.

10. Cut and Serve
Once chilled, lift the bars out using the parchment paper edges. Place on a cutting board and slice into 12 equal bars. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
