Decadent Apple Cinnamon Crisp with Caramel & Vanilla Ice Cream



Ingredients



- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 cup homemade caramel sauce

Instructions



1. Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish with a light layer of butter or non-stick spray.

2. Prepare the Apples
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and the ground cinnamon.
- Toss until the apples are evenly coated. Set aside.

3. Make the Crisp Topping
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, oats, remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar, and salt.
- Pour the melted butter over the mixture, stirring until crumbly.

4. Assemble the Crisp
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the crisp topping over the apples, ensuring it's distributed evenly.

5. Bake
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.

- Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving.
