Decadent Breakfast Croissant Pockets with Sweet and Savory Fillings



Ingredients



For the Savory Filling:
- 1 tube croissant dough
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 4 slices ham, thinly sliced
- 1 cup tiny cooked broccoli florets
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

For the Sweet Filling:
- 1/4 cup pistachio cream
- 1/4 cup Nutella
- 1/4 cup whipped Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup fresh berries (mixed berries preferred)
- 4 teaspoons turbinado sugar
- 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese

For Toppings:
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
- 3 tablespoons chocolate sauce
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Zest from 1 orange
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
- 2 teaspoons cocoa

Instructions



Step 1: Prepare the Savory Croissant Pockets
1. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the croissant dough.
2. Cut the dough into large rectangles (about 4x6 inches).
3. On one half of each rectangle, layer crumbled bacon, sliced ham, broccoli florets, and shredded cheese.
4. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges gently with a fork to seal. Be sure there is no filling on the edges for a good seal.
5. Preheat a stovetop griddle or skillet to medium heat.
6. Cook the croissant pockets for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Step 2: Prepare the Sweet Croissant Pockets
1. On the remaining rectangle, spread pistachio cream evenly on one side.
2. Over the cream, add Nutella, a dollop of whipped Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and a few fresh berries.
3. Fold and seal the edges as done with the savory pockets.
4. Reduce the heat to low and cook these on the griddle for 2 minutes on each side or until the dough is golden and slightly crisp.

Step 3: Serve and Garnish
1. On a serving platter, arrange the savory and sweet croissant pockets.
2. Drizzle chocolate sauce over the sweet croissants and dust with powdered sugar.
3. Sprinkle both types with chopped pistachios, cocoa, and orange zest for additional flavor and aesthetics.
4. Serve hot with a side of whipped cream for dipping and a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
