Decadent Choco-Nut Layered Delight
Ingredients
- 1 cup Oreo cookies, crushed
- 1 cup almonds, toasted and chopped
- 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1/2 cup pistachios, toasted and chopped
- 1/2 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon coffee granules
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
- 4 ounces Nutella
- 1/2 cup banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup apricot jam
- 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt
- 2 tablespoons kirsch-soaked cherries, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- Fresh raspberries, for garnish
- Fresh strawberries, for garnish
- Fresh cherries, for garnish
- Toasted nuts, for garnish
- Biscuits, for serving
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare Base: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies, chopped almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, pecans, cocoa powder, coffee granules, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press firmly into a 9x9-inch baking dish to form an even base.
2. Bake the Crust: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake the crust for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool slightly while you prepare the filling.
3. Prepare the Creamy Layer: In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, mascarpone, Nutella, mashed banana, apricot jam, salted caramel sauce, honey, vanilla extract, and flaky sea salt until smooth and well combined.
4. Mix the Liquid Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together until well combined. Gently fold this into the cream cheese mixture until smooth.
5. Assemble and Bake: Pour the creamy filling over the cooled crust in the dish, spreading it evenly. Dot with chopped kirsch-soaked cherries. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly browned.
6. Chill and Serve: Allow the dessert to cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Before serving, whip the cream to soft peaks and spread over the top, then garnish with fresh raspberries, strawberries, cherries, and additional toasted nuts.
7. Plate and Enjoy: Cut into servings, placing each slice on a biscuit. Drizzle with a little extra salted caramel sauce if desired.
