Decadent Chocolate Brownie Sundae Extravaganza
Ingredients
For the Brownies:
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon espresso powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
For the Sundae:
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup assorted dried fruit
- 1/2 cup mini M&Ms
- 1/2 cup peanut butter cups, chopped
- Vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 cup strawberry sauce
- Whipped cream
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare Brownie Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, blend 1 cup of melted butter with 2 cups of sugar until smooth. Add in the cocoa powder, and mix thoroughly.
3. Incorporate Eggs and Flavorings:
Crack the 4 eggs, one at a time, into the mixture, blending well between each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, espresso powder, and salt until everything is fully combined.
4. Integrate Dry Ingredients:
Gradually fold in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, ensuring no lumps remain. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
5. Bake the Brownies:
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
6. Cool the Brownies:
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack to set the texture properly.
7. Prepare Sundae Toppings:
While the brownies are cooling, prepare the sundae toppings. Spread the shredded coconut on a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden. Let it cool. Chop the dried fruit, and gather the mini M&Ms and peanut butter cups.
8. Assemble the Sundae:
Cut the cooled brownies into squares. Place a brownie square in a serving dish, top with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.
9. Add Toppings:
Drizzle with strawberry sauce, and sprinkle with toasted coconut, dried fruit, mini M&Ms, and chopped peanut butter cups. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and scatter fresh blueberries for a fruity finishing touch.
