Decadent Chocolate Mousse with Sweet Chocolate Shell
Ingredients
- 2 cups Cool Whip
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
1. Melt the Chocolate for the Shell:
- Place 1 cup of chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave on medium power (50%) for 1 minute. Stir. If not completely melted, heat in additional 15-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth.
2. Prepare the Chocolate Mousse:
- In another microwave-safe bowl, add 1 cup of milk chocolate chips.
- Heat on medium power (50%) for 1 minute. Stir thoroughly. Repeat if necessary, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Let the chocolate cool slightly, for about 2 minutes.
- Gently fold in 2 cups of Cool Whip into the melted chocolate until well combined and fluffy. Be careful not to deflate the mousse as you mix.
3. Assemble the Dessert:
- Lay out 4 small serving bowls or dessert glasses.
- Pour an equal amount of chocolate mousse into each serving dish.
- Evenly distribute the melted chocolate wafers over the top of each mousse serving to form a shell. Allow it to settle and harden, about 5 minutes.
4. Chill Before Serving:
- Refrigerate the assembled desserts for at least 30 minutes so the chocolate shell fully sets and the mousse becomes firmer for enhanced texture.
5. Serve:
