Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1 cup assorted nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, and pecans), chopped
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons extra chocolate shavings for garnish
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9-inch springform pan with a light coating of canola oil and line the base with parchment paper for easy removal.

2. Melt Chocolate
- In a double boiler over medium heat, gently melt 12 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate, stirring occasionally to achieve a smooth consistency.
- Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.

3. Cream Butter and Sugar
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar.
- Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, approximately 3 minutes.

4. Incorporate Oils and Wine
- Blend in the canola, vegetable, coconut, and olive oils until the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually pour in the red wine and vanilla extract, stirring continuously until fully incorporated.

5. Add Eggs
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition to ensure a homogenous mixture.

6. Combine with Chocolate and Nuts
- Fold the melted chocolate into the batter using a spatula, ensuring the mixture is well-combined.
- Carefully fold in the chopped nuts and salt.

7. Bake the Torte
- Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the torte has set, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Cool and Garnish
- Allow the torte to cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
- Release the springform, and further cool to room temperature.
- Garnish with extra chocolate shavings before serving.
