Decadent Chocolate Stout Cake with Baileys Cream Frosting



Ingredients



For the Cake:
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup stout beer
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water

For the Frosting:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
- 1 cup heavy cream

For Garnish:
- Shaved dark chocolate

Instructions



1. Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Mix Wet Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until well incorporated.
- Stir in the stout beer, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- Dissolve the instant coffee granules in 1 cup of hot water and add this to the mixture. Mix thoroughly.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

4. Create the Batter:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

5. Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

6. Prepare the Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar and Baileys Irish Cream.
- Gradually add heavy cream while beating with an electric mixer on medium speed until the frosting is smooth and whipped to your desired consistency.

7. Assemble the Cake:
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the Baileys cream frosting generously over the top.
- Garnish with shaved dark chocolate for a touch of elegance.
