Decadent Chocolate-Tahini Stuffed Dates
Ingredients
- 12 large dates, pitted
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
- Flaky salt, to taste (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dates:
- Carefully make a small slit lengthwise on each date, ensuring you don’t cut them in half. Gently remove the pits if they are still present.
2. Prepare the Filling:
- In a small bowl, stir the tahini for an even consistency. Using a small spoon, fill each date cavity with approximately 1 teaspoon of tahini until slightly overflowing.
3. Prepare the Chocolate:
- Place the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium power in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. This should take about 2 minutes total.
4. Assemble the Dates:
- Dip each date, tahini-side down, into the melted chocolate until half-covered. Use a fork to lift the date out of the chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place the dates on a parchment-lined plate or tray.
5. Add Finishing Touches:
- While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle a small pinch of flaky salt on top of each date if desired.
