Decadent Marshmallow Fudge Brownies
Ingredients
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 box brownie mix (typically 18-20 oz)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate or peanut butter chips (optional)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
- Parchment paper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Baking Pan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal later.
- Lightly coat the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Mix the Brownie Batter
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, and sweetened condensed milk.
- Stir the mixture until it is smooth and uniform. This will be thicker than a typical brownie batter due to the sweetened condensed milk.
3. Add Optional Ingredients
- If using, fold in the peanut butter, chopped nuts, and chocolate or peanut butter chips.
- Reserve a small handful of nuts and chips for garnishing the top of the brownies.
4. Assemble the Brownies
- Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Scatter the reserved nuts and chips across the top of the batter.
5. Bake
- Place the baking pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes (PT30M).
- After 20 minutes, sprinkle the mini marshmallows over the top and continue baking.
- Begin checking for doneness at 25 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few crumbs for a fudgy texture.
6. Cool and Serve
- Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.
- Use the parchment overhang to lift the brownies from the pan and transfer them to a wire rack to continue cooling.
- Cut into squares and serve either warm or at room temperature.
