Decadent Microwave Chocolate Nut Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup nut pieces (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Baking Pan
Line an 8x8-inch baking dish or pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to extend over the edges for easy removal later.
2. Combine Chocolate and Milk
In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, combine the 3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips with the 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk.
3. Microwave the Mixture
Place the bowl in the microwave and set the power to 50% heat. Microwave the mixture for about 1 minute. Remove and stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. This should take approximately 3-4 minutes in total.
4. Add Vanilla and Nuts
Once the chocolate is smooth, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir well. Then, fold in the 1 cup of nut pieces until evenly distributed through the mixture.
5. Set the Fudge
Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly using a spatula. Tap the dish lightly on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
6. Chill the Fudge
Place the dish in the refrigerator and allow it to chill for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
7. Slice and Serve
Once firm, lift the fudge from the pan using the overhanging parchment paper. Cut into 16 squares using a sharp knife.
