Decadent Oven-Baked Chocolate Bark Delight
Ingredients
- 8 oz baking chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) in preparation for melting the chocolate.
2. Prepare a Baking Sheet:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
3. Melt the Chocolate:
- Place the chopped baking chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- Add the unsalted butter to the chocolate.
- Create a double boiler by setting the bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bowl does not touch the water.
- Stir the chocolate and butter mixture until completely melted and smooth.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Pour and Spread:
- Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Use a spatula to spread it out in a thin, even layer, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
5. Add Toppings:
- Evenly sprinkle the slivered almonds, dried cranberries, and sea salt over the chocolate.
6. Bake:
- Carefully place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
- Bake for approximately 5 minutes. This helps to meld the toppings into the chocolate without fully baking.
7. Chill the Chocolate Bark:
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Let it cool slightly before transferring the baking sheet to the refrigerator.
- Chill for about 1 hour or until the chocolate is fully set.
8. Break and Serve:
- Once set, use your hands to break the chocolate bark into irregular pieces.
- Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
