Decadent Pan-Fried Beef Patties with Butter & Ghee
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Beef Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions (approximately 4 ounces each).
- Gently form each portion into a round patty, about 1 inch thick. Avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Preheat the Pan:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it's shimmering but not smoking.
3. Season the Pan and Cook:
- Add the butter and ghee to the skillet, allowing them to melt and combine with the olive oil.
- Once the butter starts to foam, carefully place the beef patties into the pan.
- Sear the patties on the first side, without disturbing them, for about 3 to 4 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.
4. Flip and Finish Cooking:
- Flip the patties using a spatula and lower the heat to medium.
- Continue cooking for another 4 – 5 minutes or until the desired doneness is achieved (medium rare to medium is recommended).
5. Rest the Patties:
- Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a plate to rest for at least 3 minutes, allowing the juices to redistribute.
6. Serve:
- Arrange the patties on a serving platter and pour any remaining buttery pan drippings over them for added flavor. Serve immediately.
