Decadent Peach Cobbler Delight
Ingredients
- 1 can (29 oz) peaches, drained
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons small pearl tapioca
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the entire stick of butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Put the dish in the preheating oven for about 5 minutes, or until the butter is melted, then remove from the oven.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and ground nutmeg. Stir these dry ingredients together until evenly mixed.
3. Incorporate Wet Ingredients:
Slowly add the milk and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until a smooth batter forms without lumps.
4. Assemble the Cobbler:
Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish, but do not stir. Arrange the drained peaches evenly over the batter, then sprinkle the small pearl tapioca on top. As the cobbler bakes, it will rise, and the peaches will settle into the batter, creating a luscious top.
5. Bake:
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
6. Cool and Serve:
Once baked to perfection, remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly, about 10 minutes, before serving. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
