Decadent Pistachio and White Chocolate Tart
Ingredients
- 1 cup shelled pistachios
- 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spread the pistachios evenly on a baking sheet.
2. Oven Roasting the Pistachios:
Place the pistachios in the oven and roast for about 10 minutes until they become fragrant and slightly golden. Be sure to shake the pan halfway through for even roasting. Remove and allow them to cool.
3. Make the Tart Base:
Once cooled, finely chop 1/2 cup of roasted pistachios, set the rest aside for garnish. Mix the chopped pistachios with 2 tablespoons of softened butter and press them evenly into the bottom of a tart pan to form a crust.
4. Prepare the White Chocolate Filling:
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, white chocolate, and whipping cream. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and melted. Remove from heat.
5. Flavor the Filling:
Stir in the honey, vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt until well blended.
6. Assemble the Tart:
Pour the white chocolate mixture over the pistachio crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
7. Chill:
Refrigerate the tart for at least 2 hours, or until the filling is set.
8. Garnish and Serve:
Once set, garnish the tart with the remaining roasted pistachios. Slice and serve chilled for the ultimate creamy dessert experience.
