Delectable Crock Pot Ham and Potato Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 cups diced ham
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Wash and thinly slice the potatoes and onion. Dice the ham into bite-sized pieces. Shred the cheese if not pre-shredded.
2. Layer the Ingredients in the Crock Pot
In a lightly greased crock pot, start by layering half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom evenly. Follow with half of the onion slices and half of the diced ham. Sprinkle half of the salt and pepper over the layer.
3. Add Cheese and Soup
Evenly sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the ham and onions. Then, spread half of the cream of mushroom soup on top of the cheese layer.
4. Repeat the Layers
Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, onions, ham, salt, and pepper. Top again with the remaining cheese and spread the rest of the cream of mushroom soup.
5. Slow Cook the Casserole
Cover the crock pot and set it to low heat. Cook the casserole for approximately 4 to 5 hours, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and the cheese is melty and bubbly.
6. Serve and Enjoy
Once cooked, turn off the crock pot and let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
