Ingredients


- 1 store-bought pie dough (or homemade if preferred)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions


1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking.

2. Prepare the pie crust: Roll out the pie dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to a 9-inch pie plate and gently press it into the bottom and up the sides. Trim any excess dough hanging over the edges. Refrigerate the crust for 15 minutes.

3. Create the filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 3 minutes using an electric mixer on medium speed.
