Exquisite Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken with Garlic Butter Sauce
Ingredients
Main Components:
- 1 whole chicken (about 4 lbs)
- 1 lemon, halved
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Herb Butter Sauce:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Season the chicken inside and out with salt, black pepper, thyme, rosemary, and paprika.
- Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon halves and half of the minced garlic.
- Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and massage gently to coat evenly.
3. Roast the Chicken:
- Place the chicken, breast-side up, in a large roasting pan.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 1 hour 20 minutes (PT1H20M), or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
4. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
- Add the remaining minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh parsley, thyme, and rosemary, and cook for an additional 1 minute.
5. Rest and Serve:
- Once the chicken is roasted, let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
- Carefully spoon the warm garlic butter sauce over the chicken.
- Serve the chicken with desired sides, drizzling more sauce as preferred.
