Garlic Herb Sautéed Chicken with Lemon Butter Sauce
Ingredients
- For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 ounces each)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
2. Sauté the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet.
- Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
3. Make the Lemon Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the fresh thyme, parsley, and lemon zest.
4. Combine:
- Add the chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet. Stir well to combine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it reduce slightly for about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the chicken to coat.
5. Serve:
- Transfer the sautéed chicken to a serving platter, drizzle with the remaining sauce, and garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve hot.
